Salvation

Although every believer should strive to live a life that is pleasing to God, Salvation is still the first, last and most important goal.  Living a life that God is pleased with should result from a truly God-changed life.

Some frequently asked question about salvation:
Q.1. Who gives it?
Q.2. What is it?
Q.3. When is it given?
Q.4. Where does it take place?
Q.5. Why do we need it?
Q.6. What must I do to be saved?

Q.1. Who gives it?
A.1. Salvation is a gift given freely of God.  You did nothing to deserve it and you could never do enough to earn it.

Q.2. What is it?

A.2. Salvation is deliverance from the grasp of sin by the shedding of the blood of Christ and you accepting him as your Lord and Savior.

Q.3. When is it given?
A.3. When you repent of your sins and “…confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Messiah, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

Q.4. Where does it take place?
A.4. Salvation can take place anywhere.  You can be in a car, walking down the street, in prison or on your death bed.  Wherever you are when you receive Christ into your heart, that is where you were when you got saved.

Q.5.  Why do we need it?
A.5.  “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life.” (Romans 6:23) We are all born under the sin of Adam thus born unto death.  Salvation through Christ Jesus is the only way to avoid the penalty of that sin and our own sins.

Q.6.  What must I do to be saved?
A.6.  “…if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead , thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

If you have now come into the knowledge that you must and want to be saved, you can have salvation RIGHT NOW!!  Simply repeat the sinner’s prayer aloud.  (Please understand that the words alone do not save but the power of the meaning behind the words that you say.   Your heavenly Father recognizes your repentant heart  and welcomes you back to your rightful place as a member of his family.)

The sinner’s prayer goes as follows:

"Father, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross at Calvary, and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands. I ask this in Jesus' precious and holy name. Amen."

If you have just accepted Jesus as your Lord and savior, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!  We welcome you to the fellowship of believers known affectionately as the body of Christ.  Seeds Of Faith would like to send you additional ministry tools to help you in this new journey.  Please email our evangelism team at evangelism@seedsofaith.org.
